Get out your outdoor furniture, clean it and make sure it’s sturdy.

Try all your doors and windows and make sure they work properly. Make necessary adjustments.

Put away storm windows, wash all your windows and put up screens.

Open your windows and air out your home.

Clean out your garage.

Lubricate your garage door hardware.

Check around the foundation of your home for spots where backfilling may have settled. Fill these in and plant grass over the areas to maintain a slope away from the foundation.

Apply a coat of exterior urethane to exterior doors that are stained rather than painted.
Clean your entire home – come on, you can do it! Check all your plumbing fixtures and shut-off valves to make sure they function well.
Have your air conditioner checked by a professional. Adjust your humidifier to accommodate changing humidity levels.
Vacuum the coils at the back of your refrigerator.
