In
1974, Townwood President Tony Guglietti had a vision
of land becoming more than topography. Of a place where
individuals and families could co-exist and be proud
to call home. Of homes crafted with the care an artist
uses in applying paint to evoke beauty and meaning on
a canvas. Of workmanship that adds even more value over
time.
Tony’s vision
has become reality, with dozens of charming Townwood Homes
communities nurturing vibrant lifestyles across the Greater
Toronto Area. The company has focused on residential
communities, because as he says, “It’s what we do best.”

estate residences to affordable homes for

During the last three decades, we passed right by complacency
and devoted time and resources to venture into leading

Our company
has set many standards to which others have aspired.
Townwood was the first builder to use concrete roof tiles
and ground source heat systems in homes. When the needs of
an aging population emerged, we reintroduced the bungalow
and duplex to the marketplace. Recognizing the need for
people to live, work and grow within their homes, we were
the first builder in the GTA to offer whole home automation
with the Home Director from IBM as a standard feature in all
our communities.
Townwood was
also one of the original builders of both Erin Mills in
Mississauga and Springdale in Brampton – two of Canada’s
exemplary master-planned communities. A willingness to
accept and embrace change is what has helped us thrive
through the economic roller coaster of the past 30 years. We
believe that stability has a lot to do with why homeowners
purchase from us time and time again. Townwood offers a
higher comfort level in every sense of the word.
 These
enormous accomplishments have happened through teamwork
inspired by Tony Guglietti’s hands-on approach to home
building. A former engineer, this congenial builder’s
face is well known to sales staff, trades professionals
and homeowners. He regularly visits sites-in-progress
and is involved in every aspect of the business, from
design to after-sales service. His passion touches everyone
associated with Townwood, and has a lot to do with why
so many of our employees and trades people have been
with us for many, many years.
And now the
second generation of the Guglietti family is carrying on
these established traditions. Tony’s son Paul and daughter
Angela are involved in various aspects of the company,
including interior design and construction progress. Having
them serve on Townwood’s talented, knowledgeable team
provides a continuity that will inspire continued success.
It’s all
about family and passion. We have great faith in our
